“WVU gave me the opportunity to utilize leadership skills that I learned while on active duty. The fast-paced work environment is full of challenges and opportunities that give me the chance to make a difference within the WVU community.”
    — Stephen Riffon, Former Captain, U.S. Air Force, Interim Director of Veterans Affairs

WVU is committed to the recruitment of a diverse faculty, staff and student body. As a part of that mission, WVU has a continued commitment to promote opportunities to military veterans and provide resources to ensure their success.

Over the past several years, the University has been recognized for this commitment, named by G.I. Jobs as a “Military-Friendly School” since 2010. In 2017, WVU became the first institution of higher learning to simultaneously receive both this award and the “Military-Friendly Employer” designation.
