Temporary Employment Program
Program Overview
WVU offers temporary employment opportunities in a variety of positions across campus. Whether you're just starting in your career or you're looking to try something new, applying for a temporary position can open new doors in your career.
The WVU temporary employment program gives employees a taste of what it means to be a Mountaineer. With more than 700 associates placed through the Temps office every year, our associates are able to gain experience all across campus.
Regardless of your reason for joining our temporary employment program, you will see the essence of what it means to be a Mountaineer and the opportunities that come with it - personal and professional growth, exposure to a variety of ideas and environments and experiences that will boost your career.
Senior Temps
Believing that “dreams don’t retire,” the WVU Senior Temps program challenges the conventional notion of retirement as a time for withdrawal and inactivity. Instead, retired staff and faculty with successful careers at WVU can re-engage with the University as a temporary employee to make a difference in new ways, continue the learning process and remain active.
The vision of our Senior Temps program is to contribute to a first-class multi-generational workforce by creating a talent bank of retirees to meet the short-term staffing needs of the University in support of its teaching, research and service programs.
